CHIPS Information:

We are trying to set up a Fundraising Group, and would be interested in hearing from anyone who would like to join us.  The group would meet up occasionally to discuss fundraising ideas for the future.  Or if you would just like to offer your support at fundraising events,  please let Karen know either by email karen@chipsplay.org or by telephoning the office on 01992 534664.

New term dates for the following clubs (age 12+):

 Climbing Club, Essex Outdoors, Burnt Mill Lane, Harlow, Essex CM20 2QS – 11.00am-1.00pm – 22nd Nov – please note that 22nd Nov will be a scramble net and low ropes session.)  11.00am-1.00pm. Please contact Gill at the office on 01992 534664 or email gill@chipsplay.org to book a place.  Cost is £4.00 per session or £24.00 a term.  Places must be reserved in advance.

Cookery Club, Pinewood School, Hoe Lane, Ware SG12 9PB – 7.00-9.00pm – Cost is £4.00 per session or £24.00 a term.  Places must be reserved in advance.  Please contact Gill at the office on 01992 534664 or email gill@chipsplay.org to put your child on the reserve list.

Hoddesdon Model Railway Club, Broxbourne Meadows, Mill Lane, Broxbourne EN10 7AX

Club will run on 21st November and 12th December – 10.00-11.30am.  The club is specifically for children aged 14+ but if your child is not 14 but would still be interested please contact the office to discuss.  Spaces are limited, please contact the Gill at the office on 01992 534664 or email gill@chipsplay.org to book a space.  Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer and places must be booked in advance.

Forthcoming Events:

Saturday 5th December – CHIPS Christmas Jumper or Fancy Dress Day – wear your festive jumper at the Playscheme for a donation of £1 to help raise funds for CHIPS.  Many thanks to Vira (Cheshunt scheme) for suggesting this fundraising idea.

Charity Jam Jars – Please contact the office if you would like some empty jam jars for yourself, your friends, family, office or place of work.  Jars will be available at the summer schemes.

£100 challenge – we have extended our £100 challenge to the end of the year.  Please contact the office for more details, if you would like to take up the challenge!!

 General Information:

Stevenage 11s Flexi Football League are searching for teams and players.  Saturdays 1.00-4.00pm, £2 per player.  Further information please email ken.headington@hertfordshirefa.com or j.drackford@marriotts.herts.sch.uk

Saturday 5th December – Crafty Christmas is a family event run by the Community Church, Water Lane, Bishop’s Stortford. They have a large hall, which will be filled with craft activities suitable for toddlers through to the end of primary school, a stable dress-up photo shoot and a small train to take a ride on. All activities and refreshments are free.  This year they are planning to open the event an hour early (10am instead of 11am). They will not be publicising this on the leaflets but would like to welcome specially invited families, who would otherwise be unable to attend the event, to what should be a quieter and more spacious start to the day.  Please contact Karen at the office if you are interested in receiving more details.

Amanda Burgess’ (CHIPS Treasurer) Mum will be running a stall, in aid of CHIPS, at the Broxbourne Civic Centre Annual Christmas Fayre on Sunday 29th November – 11.00-3.30pm.  Look out for the CHIPS banner and pop along and say hello!

Many thanks to Tracey Bryant who completed the Great North Run, and raised the fantastic sum of £280.00.

Thanks to Carmen Hollis who nominated CHIPS to receive a £100.00 donation from the Phoenix International Charity.
