A massive thank you to everyone who supported us at Rock at the Castle.  We raised a staggering £6275 that day!  We are very grateful to Hertford Town Council who nominated us as their official charity for the event this year.

 

 

Forthcoming Events:

 

Celebrating Rio at Supernova on Sunday 11th September is completely free to attend and is for children and young people with additional needs, and their siblings.

This year’s event will take place at the John Warner Sport Centre, Hoddesdon between 12pm and 5pm and includes a variety of sports such as swimming, canoeing, trampolining, football, archery and golf.  For more information please visit www.broxbourne.gov.uk/leisure

Have you heard about Footgolf?  Great Hadham Golf & Country club are offering this new sport combining football and golf.  See website for details http://www.greathadham.co.uk

Fundraising

If you fancy joining the CHIPS team at the Mud Run on Saturday 2nd October in Baldock go to www.onetruegrit.com and click book now – join 5K team and the name is CHIPS Champions. You will need a password to join the team (muddychips123) and then complete the registration process.  Mud runs are fun and you don’t need to be super fit! We are competing at 11.30am.  There is a fee to join and you get a free T shirt when you register.  Let the office know if you are taking part so we can co-ordinate fundraising.

 Indian cuisine evening – 15th October.  Includes an auction of paintings and crafts.

 Annual Quiz night – 4th November

 Current Vacancies:

We are looking for new Trustees to represent the Hertford, Ware, Bishops Stortford, Cheshunt and Hoddesdon schemes.  The Trustees meet 5 times a year in the evening.  If you would be interested in further details please contact Helen or Karen on 01992 534664 or email karen@chipsplay.org.

Volunteers needed at all schemes  and we are looking out for staff  particularly in the Hertford and Hoddesdon Schemes – please contact the office if you know anyone who would be interested in volunteering or working for us.

Activity Clubs for 12-19 year olds

 Would your teenager be interested in attending any of our special activity clubs?

 Please contact Gill at the office on 01992 534664 or email gill@chipsplay.org to book a place.  Cost is £4.00 per session or £24.00 a term.  Places for all clubs must be reserved in advance.

 Climbing Club, Essex Outdoors, Burnt Mill Lane, Harlow, Essex CM20 2QS – 11.00am-1.00pm – 18th Sep, 2nd Oct, 16th Oct, 6th Nov, 20th Nov and 4th Dec from 11.00am-1.00pm.

Computer & Gaming Club, Hertford Selections Children’s Centre, Sele School, Welwyn Road, Hertford SG14 2DG –  7.00-9.00pm – 20th Sep, 4th Oct, 18th Oct, 1st Nov 22nd Nov and 6th Dec

Cookery Club, Pinewood School, Hoe Lane, Ware SG12 9PB – 7.00-9.00pm – 22nd September, 6th October, 20th October, 10th November, 24th November and 8th December.  Cost is £4.00 per session or £24.00 a term.

Hoddesdon Model Railway Club, Broxbourne Meadows, Mill Lane, Broxbourne EN10 7AX

Club will run on 24th Sep, 29th Oct, 26th Nov and 10th Dec – 10.00-11.30am.  The club is specifically for children aged 14+ but if your child is younger but would still be interested please contact the office to discuss.  Please contact the Gill at the office on 01992 534664 or email gill@chipsplay.org to book a space.  Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer and places must be booked in advance.

Our 5p jar total now stands at £1,660.48 – jars are still being filled with 5ps – many thanks to those who have contributed in this way.

Paul Johnson and Keith Willey completed the North Norfolk Coastal walk – 47 miles in 1 day and raised over £365 for CHIPS
