Cancellations and Non-Attendance

We are experiencing a high number of non-attendance at playschemes and clubs.  It is very important that if your child is unable to attend a session you cancel their place.

Saturday 18th February – Everett Rovers FC Inclusive Football Festival – Meriden Community Centre, Garsmouth Way, Watford, WD25 9ET  Football for young players with a disability and/or additional needs.  FA qualified coaches will provide appropriate, safe and enjoyable activity for children aged 5-16 &16 – 25.  Session is free of charge.  Please contact Mark Collins on  07808030512 or email .

London Marathon – 23rd April

Seminar for parents and carers who are concerned with the provision which is being offered after the age of 19.

Hertfordshire Children’s Fund

Hertfordshire Children’s Fund is a small, volunteer-led charitable fund that aims to help disadvantaged children in Hertfordshire aged 0-16 years living in families on a low income, where real need exists and statutory funding is insufficient.  Please visit the website for more information   Please note that applications must come from a professional eg. We are looking for a new Parent Trustee to represent the Ware scheme.  The Trustees meet 5 times a year in the evening.  If you would be interested in further details please contact Helen or Karen on 01992 534664 or email

The Ware scheme are looking for toy pushchairs – if you have one that you no longer need and would like to donate to CHIPS, please let Karen at the office know.

The Bishops Stortford Scheme are in need of plastic boxes, any size, and any spare clothing for both boys and girls.  Mainly trousers, joggers and pants.  If you have anything to donate please either send through to the office or take direct to the scheme.  Thanks.

CHIPS Activity Clubs for 12-19 year olds

Would your teenager be interested in attending any of our special activity clubs?

New details for the Climbing Club:

Age range has now been lowered to 10 years old and we have a new time of 12.30 – 2.30pm

Climbing Club, Essex Outdoors, Burnt Mill Lane, Harlow, Essex CM20 2QS –

Sunday’s –  19th February, 5th & 19th March 2017.

 Cookery Club, Pinewood School, Hoe Lane, Ware SG12 9PB – 7.00-9.00pm – new  term’s dates –  23rd Feb, 9th & 23rd March.  (Cost includes all ingredients)

Hoddesdon Model Railway Club, Broxbourne Meadows, Mill Lane, Broxbourne EN10 7AX

Club will run on, 11th February, 11th March – 10.00-11.30am.  The club is specifically for children aged 14+ but if your child is younger but would still be interested please contact the office to discuss.  Contact Gill at the office on 01992 534664 or email to book a space.  Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer and places must be booked in advance.


The Souper Walk at Tewin was a huge success raising just over £900.00.  The weather was kind and walkers were treated to a local history lesson en route.  Many thanks to Hazel, Bernie and Liz for leading the walks, and to Helen, Karen, Gill and Alison for making and serving soup, cake, teas and coffees back at Tewin Village Hall.  Thank you also to everyone who made cake, and supported this event.

Our 5p jar total now stands at £2,219.86 – jars are still being filled with 5ps – many thanks to those who have contributed in this way.  If you have any jars at home please bring them to scheme or drop them into the office.
