CHIPS has been selected as one of three charities to receive a donation from the Tesco Bags of Help scheme and voting will take place at the Hertford Tesco Store. To vote just make a purchase within the store of any value, and you will receive one blue token per transaction, and it’s not necessary to purchase a carrier bag.  Make sure to ask for your blue token and vote for CHIPS!  Please spread the word to family and friends – voting starts on 1st September until 31st October.

Parent Trustee

We are looking for new Parent Trustees, especially to represent the Ware scheme.  The Trustees meet 5 times a year in the evening.  If you would be interested in further details please contact Helen or Karen on 01992 534664 or email


CHIPS has been selected by the Co-op to be one of their charities to receive 1% of Co-op branded purchases for the next 6 months.  If you are a Co-op member you can support CHIPS immediately at and select CHIPS as your cause.  To become a member visit the website  and sign up.  As a member you will get 5% off Co-op branded purchases – so sign up and support CHIPS today!




For our Glitter Ball Gala Dinner we are having a sparkle tree to help raise much needed funds for CHIPS.  If anyone has any spare bottles of Champagne that they would like to donate, please contact Karen at the office on or 01992 534664.


We will also be producing an A5 programme for the tables at the Glitter Ball.  If you or anyone that you know would like to place an advertisement in the programme, please contact Karen at the office.  Cost will be £25.00 for a half page and £45.00 for a full page.

CHIPS parent Amy is organising a fantastic night of live music, disco, with a raffle and bar in Buntingford to raise much needed funds for CHIPS.  Tickets are £15.00 each and will include a glass of fizz on arrival.  More information coming soon.


Saturday 7th October  – CHIPS Glitter Ball Gala Dinner – 7.00pm – Midnight

Ware Drill Hall, 17 Amwell End, Ware SG12 9HP.  Join us for a Strictly themed evening, to include a three course meal, live music (Adele tribute), professional ballroom dancers.  £55.00 per person, black tie dress code.  Contact or call the office 01992 534664. Last few tables left.

Sundays 12.30-2.30pm –  10th September, 24th September, 8th October, 22nd October, 5th November, 19th November.

Age range has now been lowered to 10 years old.

Cookery Club, Pinewood School, Hoe Lane, Ware SG12 9PB – Thursdays 7.00-9.00pm – 21st September, 5th October, 19th October, 16th November and 30th November (Cost includes all ingredients)


Computer Club, Selections Children’s Centre, Hertford SG14 2DG

Tuesdays 7.00-9.00pm –  19th September, 26th September, 17th October, 7th November, 21st November and 5th December.

Hoddesdon Model Railway Club, Broxbourne Meadows, Mill Lane, Broxbourne EN10 7AX

Saturdays 10.00-11.30am – 23rd September, 21st October, 25th November.  The club is specifically for children aged 14+ but if your child is younger but would still be interested please contact the office to discuss.  Contact Gill at the office on 01992 534664 or email to book a space.  Children must be accompanied by a parent or carer and places must be booked in advance.

Thank you to Matt Cooper and Jackie Cole for manning the CHIPS stall at the Hertford Town Play Day recently.  The weather wasn’t kind, but the children enjoyed colouring in frizbees, and playing the luck lolly game!  Total raised on the day was £194.80.

Thanks to the Corn Exchange for collecting £87.06 at the recent Rock at the Castle Aftershow Party.

Our 5p total is now up to £2,601.64 – many thanks to everyone who has been collecting their 5ps – keep up the good work!!
